Some Ruff Competition Flyball Team
Heather Brooks-Dobie and Derek
Dobie
Luck smiled on us when Heather found us . . . Bringing Misty the Australian Shepherd out to her first practice offered Heather some insight into her dog's personality and untapped skills, plus Heather's own competitive nature. Heather is eager to jump in and tackle any task, be it as part of a lineup's support staff or at one of SRC's sanctioned flyball tournaments, she is there! Equally good is that her son Derek is a sponge to learn anything he can about flyball and dogs, while sharing his unique sense of humour with us. Actually, he rivals Glenn for weirdness. Heather is an RN and owner of Outreach Health Services and the Clinic Director of Northern Reproductive Therapies. If you get the chance, ask her about her interesting line of work. Heather, Michael, Derek and Misty have added a new addition to their family in "Simba" the Papillion who holds his own with Misty! Flyball is just the start, Heather and Misty have recently added frisbee and herding to their activities. Derek's missing some flyball practice time this winter as Hockey has taken over. He represents the East Gwillimbury Eagles. We also understand that Heather is a real wiz at NTN trivia, but we haven't yet had the chance to challenge her knowledge. If you see a player called "sgirl" on the screen, watch out!
