Some Ruff Competition Flyball Team
Jennifer Hall
From 'time to time' over the years we've had the assistance of Jennifer on our head table at tournaments, calling the line for us, running one of her mom Sherri's dogs or making us 'rise to her bait' as we raced against her. We are pleased to now welcome Jennifer as a 'full time' addition to the ranks of Some Ruff Competition! Before Jen reached the 'double digits' she trained her Border Collie "Marley". First racing with Pure Gold, then with Rocket Relay, Marley became an integral part of the 2003-2004 SRC lineups helping us to win the 2004 Multi Breed Regional Championship. Her next dog is an Australian Shepherd "Phurie" affectionately called "Phu" or "Phu Phu". Phurie is a testament to Jen's ability as a trainer not only in the flyball lanes, but also on the trampoline! Phurie can do a 'go touch' 6 feet up a wall without any effort at all. Her 'eye' on the line is not to be trifled with! Jen has brought an energy to the team that all the glucosamine in the world can't match. While Jen was at Humber College the training of her 3rd dog became a joint task between our next youngest handler and that handlers mom. The joy on Wikked's face is matched by Jen's when they do well. But you best watch out Jen . . . Emma still has her sights on Wikked . . . now if she could only match Jen's reflexes in start! Jen will be continuing her canines training in Search and Rescue and Detection Dog Training at Tarheel Canine Training Inc. in North Carolina early in 2008.
